El Cuchillero

This gentleman spends his days of retirement making knives in the hills of Asturias.
The ammount of craftsmen and women in this region of Spain is amazing. It seems that everyone has some talent.
These images were taken at the Cuchillero's home. Inside of what many Americans would consider a "converted garage." Raw steel, a furnace, and an anvil...all so one can enjoy a fresh loaf of bread.

It's been awhile....

Yes, It has been awhile. The Shutterthug has been traveling near and far, sticking his camera in peoples faces, and nether regions. The Images that I am sharing with you were taken throughout Spain. Specifically, Sevilla, Toledo, Leon, Astorga, and Asturias. Unfortunately, I seemed to have misplaced my photographs of Madrid. Sorry friends, they are here somewhere....
All images were shot on film. With two rangefinder cameras: my beloved Leica M4-P and a Bronica RF645 Medium format.
In other news...July will be my last month of residency in NYC. Sad as it may seem, I am leaving for a good if not great reason....
